Are online meetings the new face-to-face training?

Well, for those of us in lockdown, it appears to be the new norm. But whether staying home or working from home, we’re becoming used to Zoom meetings nowadays. And a bonus, at the end of the meeting, we can go back to the kitchen and stir the slow cooker! Of course we prefer to be seeing your smiling face, that’s why we’re only doing Zoom workshops so we can all get to see each other on the screen and be more interactive. At least we all know where the microphone and video settings are now 😉

Helping passionate local community members to build and grow sustainable organisations is what we live for, so this trip we were full of warm fuzzies rubbing shoulders with the locals (figuratively speaking while being covid safe). #016B90

5 Top tips on How to Run an Effective Meeting

Do your meetings start or finish late? Do people talk over one another? Are previous minutes, reports, and other relevant documents available to read. If your meetings aren’t well run, people may stop attending, not participate or add value during in meetings, or not feel valued.

Well run meetings can help with: board and committee retention, keep members and volunteers informed, stay on track of important financial and legal issues, and make meetings enjoyable instead of a chore.

    We’ve Been Busy

It’s been a big month and the work we’re doing in the community is so exciting.

We’ve delivered fundraising; governance and grant writing training sessions for community groups and we were so chuffed to get this great feedback from the City of Sydney who hosted a few webinar sessions for their community.

We just love to hear the difference we’re making to community groups and this was one of the highlight responses the council team shared with us “I have written 100’s of grants. I have learned more in the last 2 hours, I cannot believe it. Thank you so much”  Awww… this is the stuff that makes us continue our purpose to deliver you relevant, practical learning that makes a real difference!
