Case Study

Department of Sport and Recreation Western Australia

GOAL

The department wanted to deliver a series of videos for board members of state-based sporting associations.

Their current challenges of face-to-face delivery included:

  • Inconsistent messages delivered by different trainers
  • Costs to train across the state

NEED

The content was directed towards board members who have experience on boards. It needed to include important foundational information, but not be too basic in the content.

Content needed to be developed as a video series to be able to be hosted across multiple websites and on their youtube channel.

SOLUTION

The series utilised their existing text-based resources, to develop 30 micro-lessons across three topics covering governance; strategic planning and financials.

The budget only enabled the delivery of video content with some interactive production techniques. We employed a variety of colourful and succinct illustrations in an easily digestible format to invite learners into the realm of financial literacy.

Additional intellectual property from subject matter experts, Kim Buttfield and Natalie Bramble, was included to provide a focus on practical knowledge. Our Western Australian team, Kim and Julian supported the delivery of the courses.

IMPACT

The first of the series was launched in November 2018.
